If your friends ask you about "Hydro(beer)ology", you can share your unique scientific insights about the parallels between pumping ground water and drinking beer.
Aquifer Pumping Tests are optimized by Step Drawdown Testing. You can start by sipping your beer if you want while mimicking the concept of step drawdown testing. If it's a hot day, and your pint glass is chilled with your favorite cold beer, you may simply prefer to drawdown at your own personal rate. Cheers!
NO STEP DRAWDOWN TEST NEEDED.
"THE GLASS"
BEER IN A GREAT GLASS
You don't need to be a Hydrogeologist to appreciate a great beer, and today's spectrum of craft beers give us great choices to taste them in a chilled Pint Glass.
DRINKING DRAWDOWN
Watch the beer level drawdown with each drink. You can tell your friends about your last pumping test while you enjoy your favorite hazy IPA or cold lager.
GEOLOGY OF BEER
This is the infamous Pint Glass that arrived on the scene during the educational event,
Gotta love it!
HYDRO(BEER)OLOGY
It's true. We make this stuff up along the way. When combining hydrogeology with beer on the back deck surrounded by friends and a full cooler, sometimes inspiration is obvious.

WE JUST WANT
YOU TO BE HAPPY
Whether you're an established GeoScientist or beer enthusiast or whatever, we just want you to be happy. The truth is, we love hearing from people. Tell us how you feel. Share your story.
Pour a beer and then pour your heart out.
KEEP IT COLD...
First things first, you gotta keep it cold. Fill your chilled Hydro(beer)ology Pint Glass to the top, and then wrap in a one-of-a-kind GeoMan or GeoWoman insulated koozie that's designed especially for your Pint Glass. It's a great fit, a great purpose, a great declaration of being a GeoScientist Extraordinaire!
Midwest GeoSciences Group
The Midwest GeoSciences Group began in 1996 with our first workshop helping consultants improve subsurface characterization using a few simple improvements to soil boring logs. Tim Kemmis and Dan Kelleher founded "MidwestGeo" and conducted the first course: "Improving Hydrogeologic Investigations, Part 1: Site Geologic Characterization in Glaciated Areas". Overwhelming positive feedback compelled us to offer a second course: "Advances in Ground Water Movement Through Glacial Successions".
We quickly learned that professionals benefited from our courses because they provide meaningful solutions to common technical problems. We listened and learned and thus a portfolio of field guides were developed to help field staff think on their feet as the drilling and sampling program progresses.
Today, we produce courses, workshops, webinars, online educational experiences, and field tools that help people achieve both their personal and professional goals. Plus, we found ourselves creating Hydro(beer)ology Pint Glasses and a bond with our precious planet through our geo-profession.
All of this is about you. You're the GeoScientist Extraordinaire. You’re the rock star. You’re the superhero. You’re the one with the noble profession. We are motivated by serving you while building a team locally to serve globally - one that's connected by the pursuit of personal growth, professional integrity, and responsible global stewardship. We are on a mission together.
